Sietec is one of New Zealand’s largest, privately-owned telecommunications providers. We design, deliver and support unified communications solutions and contact centres for Enterprise and SMB’s around the country. We deliver network services (data and voice) at wholesale rates as well as offering business security and integration services.

Things sure have changed from when we first starting supplying phone systems and cabling way back in 1990.
Back then, the business consisted of just two guys and a van. MC Hammer ruled the airwaves, Buck Shelford had just been dropped as All Blacks captain and cellphones were so large they had to be carried with shoulder straps. The early 90’s bought with it something that would change the face of communication and in 1991, 1100 NZer’s were connected to something called “the internet”. In 1998 it was Sietec who deployed some of the first VoIP solutions in NZ and led the charge for complete Unified Communications solutions in the early 2000’s.
Fast forward to 2016 and Sietec is a leading ICT provider with branches strategically spread throughout the country. Our team is now 50 strong and the average length of service is 15 years+ – we think that says a lot about who we are as a company. We enjoy the unique position of having solutions and partnerships with two of the world’s top providers of Unified Communications. Our clients include 50% of New Zealand’s top nationwide retailers as well as New Zealand’s pre-eminent Contact Centre’s (111 NZ Police & Fire).

20 years plus and still loving the people, product and environment at Sietec. Working in a team environment that gives the individual the trust to work in a way they feel they can achieve the best possible outcome.

My aim is to provide customers with the service and support they expect and above. Working for Sietec I am able to do this with the support of the company and fellow employees.
I get great satisfaction when I put together a proposal for a customer that is accepted and implemented with the support of the company. Having previously been with a larger company, it is good to feel that what I have been able to bring to Sietec is appreciated, you are an employee not a number.
Having worked in the industry for more than 30 years for a number of different Telco and PABX companies I have seen the fly-by-nighters come and go, and there are companies who think they can change the world of communications, but they lose their focus. It gives you confidences working for Sietec, who are focused in providing the client a solution that works and standing by what they sell.
Staff are one big happy working family ….. even the bad days are good. No day is ever the same and there is a real sense of accomplishment being able to assist our customers.
In the 10 years I have been in Project Management I have especially enjoyed the friendly working environment Sietec has provided.
The Technical/Service staff are probably the most knowledgeable and experienced people I have worked alongside and are totally committed and professional in whatever endeavour is placed upon them.
Working at Sietec enables me to get an in-depth knowledge of the emerging trends in Telecommunications which now involves more than just a phone. No two days are the same. I enjoy being a valued member of the team that keeps on delivering the service that Sietec has become known for.
18 years this month – and for most of that time 😉 it’s my work colleagues that keep me coming back.
